Book Review for
Scarlet -- King Raven: Book 2
by Stephen R. Lawhead
The re-telling of the Robin Hood story, this time through flashbacks
with Will Scarlet, who is in prison for a crime he did not commit.
He is sentenced to death by hanging unless he delivers King Raven
to the Sheriff, who cleverly allows Scarlet to dictate his story to Odo,
a monk, in the hopes of discovering some details about King Raven.
Scarlet, a forester skilled with the bow, tells of how he met and joined
King Raven. Even though he and Odo become friends, Scarlet is careful
in telling his recollections. Tension builds when Scarlet deciphers a
secret message and must get word to King Raven before it is too late.
This story is filled with adventure, romance, bravery, and everything you
would expect from the Robin Hood tale. An excellent book.
