Book Review for

He Who Fears the Wolf
(an Inspector Konrad Sejer mystery)

by Karin Fossum

The 2nd Inspector Konrad Sejer mystery.
A woman who lives alone in the middle of the woods is brutually
murdered. The chief suspect is a schizophrenic young man who has
never had a history of violence. There was a witness, a 12-year old boy,
who is practicing his archery in the woods after slipping away from his home
for delinquents. And there is a demented bank robber who accidentally takes
the suspect hostage. The author does a fine job of weaving a strange alliance
between kidnapper and suspect, both suffering from significant irrationality.
Inspector Konrad is drawn to the woman who treated the schizophrenic
suspect and who can't possibly believe he would murder anyone. Just
when  the reader thinks the murder has been solved, a twist at the
end reveals the real killer. A very engaging mystery.
