Book Review for
The Shape of Water
by Andrea Camilleri
The 1st Inspector Salvo Montalbano mystery.
In the small, fictitious, Sicilian town of Vigata, a high-ranking city
official is found dead
of natural
causes but Inspector Montalbano is suspicious. The official is found in a
compromising
part
of town, having been seen with a woman who is the daughter-in-law of his natural
successor.
Montalbano, in the words of his police commissioner, is a man who possesses "an
intelligence,
an acumen, and, most important, a courtesy in human relations quite rare
nowadays."
The story is full of wit, a sense of place, an engaging plot, and is
well-written.
A very good mystery to read.
